A few days before his big day, Luis contacted me after finding my work online and connecting with my style of natural, emotional photography. He wanted a discreet engagement photographer in Cancun to capture one of the most important moments of his life: a surprise proposal to his girlfriend on the beautiful beach of Isla Blanca, one of the last pristine coastal areas just north of Cancun.
The plan was simple but meaningful. I would photograph the moment from a distance so she wouldn’t suspect anything. When they arrived, I stayed back while they walked along the quiet shoreline. Luis had prepared a romantic setup: a small board with cheeses and cold cuts, a bottle of wine, and a cozy dinner by the sea. With the help of the bride’s family, a delicate flower arrangement had also been placed on the sand near the water.
After enjoying their seaside picnic, Luis invited her for a walk. As they approached the flowers, she realized something special was happening. In that unforgettable moment, Luis knelt down, showed her the ring, and asked her to marry him. She happily said yes.
After the proposal, we captured beautiful photos during sunset, with the lagoon behind us glowing with golden light. We eventually had to run from a swarm of mosquitoes at nightfall—but it was all part of an unforgettable Isla Blanca surprise proposal in Cancun.
